rockford-il

Midwest Regional Championship

Quidditch will return to Rockford, IL, which previously hosted April’s Rock River Invitational. The Sportscore II facility is equipped with 19 soccer fields and an additional 14 practice fields, and also features free wireless Internet. The tournament will be hosted by the Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and organized by the Midwest Regional Championship Committee.

By bringing the MWRC to an area that already shares the IQA’s passion for quidditch, the tournament organizers will have the full support of the facility managers to provide the competitive atmosphere that is the hallmark of regional championships. The RACVB’s familiarity with the game, as well as superior financial support, makes Sportscore II an ideal venue for the Midwest’s premier tournament.

Northeast Regional Championship

The Total Sports Experience complex in Monroe County, NY will play host to the Northeast Regional Championship. The Monroe County Sports Commission will host this championship in conjunction with local Snow Belt Conference teams the University of Rochester Thestrals and the Rochester Institute of Technology Dark Marks.

The TSE complex features 14 outdoor soccer fields spread across 40 acres, as well as three indoor fields. TSE also features wireless Internet as a complimentary service to all players and fans.

Monroe County, no stranger to major sporting events, has previously hosted the 2013 PGA Championship, the 2011 Amateur World Disc Golf Ball Championships, and is home to the Buffalo Bills training camp. The Rochester bid was the only bid received by the IQA to host the NERC, and we are extremely excited to place the tournament in the capable hands of the Northeast Regional Championship Committee, Monroe County, and the UR and RIT teams.
