A depleted Perth Phoenixes team defeated the Macquarie University Marauders, 110*-70, to capture the 2013 QUAFL Cup and Oceania Regional Championship.
The Phoenixes fielded a limited roster due to their team's cross-country distance from the Sydney, Aus. venue. Perth began the weekend with just ten players, a number that early on Saturday was reduced to nine players for the remainder of the event. The community team defeated the QUAFL reigning champions, University of New South Wales Snapes on a Plane, in the quarterfinals by a score of 80*-50.
In capturing the title at QUAFL, the Phoenixes secured a bid to World Cup VII. Oceania's other three bids were rounded out by remaining top finishers Macquarie, University of Sydney, and Newcastle Fireballs.
