Pricing for Teams
To participate in IQA-sanctioned tournaments, teams must be members of the IQA (read IQA policies on unofficial teams). Official member teams may register as either basic level or tournament level at any point during the year, although membership (individual and team) will always expire on June 30, 2014. Both tournament teams and basic teams are considered official member teams, though they receive different benefits and are subject to different requirements:
- All players on a tournament team's event roster must be individual members as well.
- Each team must have at least one coach or captain-level member. Whichever person registers a team through this website will be given captain designation if not registered as a coach.
- Basic team membership is for teams who are not ready or able to participate as full tournament teams. Basic membership allows a newer or smaller team to attend one IQA-sanctioned event (but not regional championships*) by only paying a team fee.
- Players on basic teams do not need to register individually as members, although they can if they want to take advantage of individual membership benefits.
- Basic teams are not eligible to play in regional championships, nor can they qualify for the World Cup. Basic teams do not count toward World Cup regional berth distribution.
- If a basic team wishes to attend other IQA-sanctioned events, they must pay a per-player registration fee. This registration fee covers the cost of accident insurance coverage for that event only.
*Exceptions can be made in certain national leagues. See the national leagues page for details.
